Dear Subscriber,
International Women's Day annually draws attention to the status of women, appreciates their achievements, and their contributions to society. At the British Chamber of Commerce, we focus on women's empowerment throughout the year and are part of an initiative we launched with our member last year.
We believe that by inspiring others to support diversity and inclusion, we create a better world. However, we can achieve even more by supporting the activity of women themselves.
"We strengthen their sense of belonging, confidence, and create a community where women support and motivate each other. We believe that our actions and initiatives, prepared with our partners and members, will also be inspiring for you," said Miroslava Remenárová, Chairwoman of the British Chamber of Commerce.
Don't forget to register to our events and take advantage of the membership discount.

Our partner organization, Akčné ženy brought the issue of pay inequality between men and women into the public sphere. Equal Pay Day – EPD is a symbolic day highlighting wage disparities, as well as the title of a conference in which we partnered last autumn, with Miroslava Remenárová, Chairwoman of the Board, serving as its ambassador.
During the conference, a survey conducted by the 2muse agency on gender pay disparities was presented, revealing the following facts: - We are not aware of the problem we have - for 38% of people, unequal pay is not a topic, but:
- 75% of people believe that women earn less per hour of work than men
- 33% of people believe that promoting pay equality is important for companies and the economy
As a result of activities following the conference, the Equal Pay Initiative was launched, advocating for equal and fair pay for everyone without discrimination.
Ivona Žitná, Relationship & Event Manager, represented us at the signing ceremony. "I was pleased to see how many of our member companies were there, and I was proud to see that responsible business takes such a form," Ivona said joyfully. "Together, we can make a change and motivate others to do the same."

|
|
|
Thanks to our collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, we have joined the successful Equilibrium mentoring program, which focuses on supporting and empowering women in business and management. For thirteen years, it has been helping women thrive, break barriers, and reach their full potential.
"Participation in the Equilibrium program is beneficial for career orientation, supports personal development, and gives mentees the opportunity to meet inspirational business figures," said program manager Matěj Buďárek. "We are very pleased to welcome the first participants from Slovakia this year, and we believe that the example set by TESCO will be followed by other companies from Slovakia." |
