Dear Reader,
Welcome to our March Newsletter!
Even though we hear more dreadful news coming out of Ukraine every day, we hope that the world's leaders can work together to enforce a peaceful resolution soon.
On a positive note, our Board of Directors met Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner Chris Barton CMG from the Department for International Trade on 24 March. He said he very much enjoyed the insightful discussion about the UK-Slovakia business and investment opportunities and was interested to hear about the challenges Britcham members face following Brexit, Covid and the war in Ukraine.
Earlier this month we raised awareness that businesses will need to use new conformity assessment marks UKCA and UKNI for goods they export to the UK and Northern Ireland market from 1 January 2023. If this affects your business, the UK government has provided guidance documents, including a one-pager and a step-by-step guide translated into Slovak to help you get started. You can find more information on our
website but let us know if you have any questions.
For our upcoming events, check out our calendar. We're also planning another Speed Business Meeting with the ChamCham community in May. Watch this space!
New colleague: And last but certainly not least, I am delighted to welcome Žaneta Kúdelová, Corporate Relations Manager to our Britcham team. Žaneta brings a wealth of expertise in the private sector and recruitment world. As our new Corporate Relations Manager she is looking forward to building strong relationships with you, as we always focus on putting members at the heart of everything we do.
On behalf of the team at Britcham and the Board of Directors, we thank you all for your continued support and we wish you a Happy Easter!
