My first visit to a Global Delivery Center (GDC) location was Košice, Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia.
I was wondering how the HR activities look like in a workplace that employs around 4.000 people in the second largest Slovakian city and contributes to many Deutsche Telekom segments’ business success. More than half of the people are working closely with T-Systems International.
My favourite part of a visit is always the HR deep dive session. I do not like to stay on the surface, want to understand some details or facts behind the curtain. Thanks to Igor Stančik and his team I have heard about great practices - I always seek for the opportunity to connect the dots and discuss what is relevant also for other countries or how can we bring closer our international cooperations.
I am impressed especially about:
💎High number of internal moves coming from up/reskilling - I believe this is the future of internal career!
💎Data and AI driven recruitment practices - internal referral program is a strong candidate source (17%) and they continuously measure the candidate and new employee experience.
💎Learning & development is close to my heart - the 3 year long dual education program is a key pipeline building of young professionals.
💎The very strong internal knowledge sharing - 200 experts are forming a strong community and they deliver the 60% of training needs.
💎For such a big organization you need great people leaders - happy to see the NOVA talent program’s success, career program designed for the Global Delivery Centers in Hungary, Slovakia, India and Spain. Can`t wait to attend the upcoming graduation event! Anna Broda and Peter Fischer also joined us - I like to see when we immediately pick up a topic and move into the action, because the right people are around the table.
It was lovely to meet the broader HR community over lunch, many of them working in global teams. I have heard words like “halaszle” and “bundaskenyer” (these are Hungarian specialties) :)
We have met a group of talents, so many relevant questions! I have adviced and shared with them the concept of #growthmindset from Carol Dweck.
