Dear Subscriber,
Welcome to our special "Race to zero" edition of the British Chamber of Commerce Newsletter!
I hope that many of you could join us at what was a truly inspirational conference.
It was a huge honour that President Caputova and Nigel Topping the UK's climate action champion could open our conference, together with British Ambassador Nigel Baker. I'm really grateful to everyone involved who helped to make it happen, and in particular our Chair of the Board Miroslava Remenarova.
Don't worry if you missed any of it, as all the sessions were recorded; see the links below.
While the conference has ended, I hope it is actually just the beginning of something very special here in Slovakia. We came together and shared a wealth of ideas on how to recover through climate action. Indeed, we cannot afford not to. It's what our customers want. It's how we stay competitive. It is how we set an example to others. In doing so, we are helping Slovakia to achieve its net zero ambition and be a leader in the region.
Climate action is everyone's business. It's not too late to adapt, but there's no time to lose. Delaying action is a business risk.
I was delighted to receive so much amazing feedback afterwards, from people feeling inspired by the Race to zero. If you haven't already, I really recommend that you take a look and join the Race to Zero. When you do, please keep in touch, as we want to hear about your journey.
And let's keep sharing ideas between each other, as a community of strong and dynamic businesses in Slovakia. While our Chamber was the first to join the Race to Zero in Slovakia, I am sure that we won't be the last.
Let's keep the momentum going; and help as many companies as possible to achieve a profitable and carbon neutral recovery after this devastating pandemic.
Take care and kind regards,
Hajni
