Round table discussion: Teaching Towards Tomorrow, Bratislava, July 20, 2022
In close collaboration with the (EISB), we organized a pilot roundtable discussion entitled Teaching Towards Tomorrow.

We invited guests from an external environment:
·        , HR Director,
·       , Chairman of the Board (Employers’ Council for Dual Education)

The event was attended by representatives of BritCham members:
·       , Head of Communication,
·       , Head of Talent Solutions,
·       , CEO,
·       , General Manager,
·       , Country Manager,
·       , Managing Partner,

Jaymes Regualos, Director of EISB, in his role as host, set the stage for an informal meeting of representatives of companies - future employers, recruitment companies involved in talent search, as well as practicing teachers. The discussants were looking for ways to bring school education as close as possible to the needs and requirements of the workplace. The discussion also touched on other topics: how to help students gain practical knowledge that will give them a better idea of their future career, or what are the key skills needed for the future in the context of a rapidly changing labor market.

"You may be wondering why BritCham, as a Chamber of Commerce, supports such an event. The answer is simple – you can’t do business without people. The fact that there is a shortage of people on the Slovak labor market is now evident even in sectors that not so long ago did not have this problem. Today, however, the situation is different. We have great potential in our members, who can share their experiences, and we also have the ability to present interesting proposals to the professional public and to the government. This meeting is just the beginning of our journey to create an initiative to support educated, motivated people, and thus support our members’ businesses," described the reasons for this initiative Žaneta Kúdelová, Executive Director of BritCham.

Jaguar Land Rover is our Patron
image
We are happy to inspire members to grow with us through our activities and future plans: our member, Jaguar Land Rover Slovakia, is increasing its membership to Patron level from July!
The Jaguar Land Rover production plant in Nitra is the youngest car company in Slovakia (since 2018), but also an active member of BritCham right from the start. Some time ago, its Operations Director Russell Leslie took us behind the scenes, then only virtually, due to the pandemic. Since then, he has been significantly involved in BritCham activities, and through his deputy leadership, Miroslava Remenárová, who is the Chair of the Board of BritCham, he has opened the space for dialogue with the government and the professional community, including SARIO, in the past two years in support of the business environment, the developing innovations, and has also reached out to other new members with his presence, such as T.O.P. Auto Slovakia, which is also a prominent Patron of BritCham.
"The reason why we extended our membership to Patron level this year is to try to activate the unique opportunities we have as a community of BritCham members - many companies have British roots, many have a successful business in the UK or are considering actively entering the British market, we can draw on that experience and develop it. If we are stronger as a Chamber, together we will increase the chances of a successful outcome of our efforts - in business and in creating positive role models," said M. Remenárová.
Thank you to our members for being with us and to our patrons for their trust you place in us through your membership. In just the last three months our membership has grown, and we will be welcoming more in August. If you want to recommend a member, please email us at and we will be happy to provide our best support.
